You may need to connect a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the BMR device during initial setup. However, you can disconnect the same later. Contact support for guidance on pre-installation / installation or any other queries.
Connect the appliance to your LAN. The appliance includes 2 Ethernet ports; you can connect one or both ports to your network.
Connect from another computer on the same LAN using the IP address displayed on the sign-in page using a web browser. Alternatively, use the serial key of the BMR device in small-case, followed by '.local' as the application URL. You can also navigate to bmrdevice.idrive.com on your browser to view the list of online BMR servers on your network. Click on the IP address of the required BMR server and you will be redirected to the sign-in page of the BMR server interface.
IDrive BMR uses industry standard 256-bit AES CCM encryption on storage.
WARNING: IDrive does not store your private encryption key on its servers. It is recommended that you archive it safely to restore your data.
Transfer your backups to the cloud, to be maintained as a secondary repository, and ensure adequate safety and ease of access when needed.
Transfer data to the cloud via physical shipment of an external storage device. Once the data is transferred to your cloud account, you can continue with incremental cloud replication.
Note: If your device is rack mountable, follow the racking guide to mount the server.
